GROWINSIGHT VS ALLIE

More than a dashboard. Real, actionable insights.

GrowInsight and Allie both give clinic owners visibility into their practice. The difference is what happens after you look at the numbers. GrowInsight sends you a straightforward explanation each week. Allie gives you another dashboard to interpret on your own.

AI Insight Report

An AI insight that tells you what changed, and what to do about it

Every week and every month, GrowInsight provides a plain-English summary generated for your practice. It explains what moved, why it likely moved, and what to do next, including which referrers have gone quiet. The full dashboards are still there too, if you want to dig into the detail yourself.

Allie shows you dashboards and, more recently, a one-line note under each metric and a library of static how-to guides, but nothing generated specifically for your practice or delivered to you directly.
You still have to go and look.

Categorised Revenue

Know your real average fee, not a blended one

If your practice runs therapy and assessment sessions side by side, a single average fee tells you very little. GrowInsight lets you define your own service categories and see the true average fee for each one.

Allie splits revenue by appointment, class and product only,
with no way to separate therapy from assessment and groups.

Referrer Traffic

Referrer performance, tracked and flagged automatically

GrowInsight tracks the performance of your referral sources and flags it directly in your AI insight email when a referrer that used to send clients regularly has gone quiet.

As of today, Allie has no comparable referrer-tracking feature.

Where Allie might be right for you

Allie bundles policy tracking, CPD reminders and a coaching workflow. GrowInsight does not, by choice, we are focused on analytics, insight and interpretation, not on becoming a compliance platform.

Allie offers more granular per-role permissions and customisable dashboard layouts. GrowInsight keeps this simpler by design, with access to pre-configured dashboards and pre-defined roles you can assign to your team.

Allie tracks Medicare Better Access session caps for psychology clients. GrowInsight does not offer this today.

Allie’s cost metrics depend on manually entered practitioner timesheets and a Xero connection and configuration. GrowInsight’s setup is lighter, but its profitability metrics are currently less deep.

What will you actually pay?

A ten-practitioner practice pays around $200 a month on Allie's per-seat pricing. The same practice pays $100 a month on GrowInsight's flat rate. Below five practitioners, Allie is typically cheaper. See the full breakdown below.

If you are choosing between GrowInsight and Allie, these are the questions worth asking first.

Straight answers to the questions practice owners ask when choosing the right reporting automation solution for their business.

Does GrowInsight have an AI feature?

Yes. Every week and month, GrowInsight sends an AI-generated email that explains what changed in your practice, why it likely changed, and what to do next, including recommended actions. When a referrer has gone quiet, when client conversion drops, when cancellations rise, etc. This is generated for your practice’s own numbers, not a templated or static summary.

GrowInsight sends a dynamic, personalised AI narrative email to the practice owner. Based on a direct review of Allie’s product, Allie offers a templated one-line context sentence under each metric and a static library of how-to playbooks. Neither of these is generated specifically for the practice, and neither is sent to the owner. This reflects a specific point-in-time review of Allie’s product and may change as Allie’s product develops.

At this time, GrowInsight supports Zanda and Halaxy. This is narrower than Allie’s PMS coverage, but it reflects GrowInsight’s specific focus on these two systems. We’re planning to add more integrations in the near future, so if you don’t see your PMS on the list, let us know.

No. Allie supports Cliniko, Nookal, Halaxy and Splose. Practices running Zanda will not find native Allie support, which is one reason some Zanda practices evaluating Allie move to GrowInsight instead.

For Zanda, you export your data and upload it into GrowInsight, which processes it automatically with no manual formatting or cleaning required. Most Zanda practices upload weekly or fortnightly, and each upload refreshes every dashboard. Halaxy works differently: GrowInsight connects via API and refreshes your data automatically every night, without any manual export needed. Allie also connects to its supported PMS platforms through a live API sync. So for Halaxy practices, GrowInsight and Allie both update automatically in the background; the manual upload step only applies to Zanda (API integration coming soon).

GrowInsight charges a flat $100 plus GST per month, regardless of how many practitioners are in the practice. Allie charges $20 per active practitioner per month, or a flat $299 to $349 per month once a practice reaches 15 or more practitioners. Below roughly five practitioners, Allie is typically cheaper. From six practitioners upward, GrowInsight is the cheaper option.

Allie’s marketing describes benchmarking drawn from more than 350 clinics. A direct review of Allie’s product interface did not find this feature anywhere in the app. This finding is based on a specific product review at a point in time and may not reflect future versions of Allie.

Yes. GrowInsight includes a dedicated referrer performance dashboard, showing historical trends, number of referred clients, revenue generated, and average sessions per referred client. It also flags in the AI insight when a referrer that used to send clients regularly has gone quiet. No equivalent feature was found in Allie’s metric set or product screenshots.

Yes. GrowInsight lets a practice define its own service categories and see the true average fee for each one. Allie splits revenue only into appointment, class and product revenue, with no way to define custom service categories.

Yes. For each revenue type you define, such as therapy versus assessment, GrowInsight shows you the true average session fee and total revenue, rather than one blended figure across your whole practice. Allie splits revenue only into appointment, class and product revenue, with no way to define your own revenue types.

Yes. You can nominate an intake or admin calendar and exclude it from key metrics such as utilisation, completions and cancellations, so your reporting reflects true practitioner performance rather than administrative bookings.

Yes. GrowInsight supports different views for different roles: clinicians see their own performance dashboard, clinical leads see every practitioner’s performance and benchmarking data, and practice managers and directors see operational, financial and growth dashboards. Allie goes further here, offering per-role, per-metric permission toggles and customisable dashboard layouts. GrowInsight has deliberately kept its role structure simpler, since this suits practices that want clear, fixed views rather than a configurable permissions system.

No. GrowInsight never stores or processes clinical notes, therapeutic content, client identifying information or any clinical information. The platform uses only operational metadata, such as appointments, invoices, payments, referrals and service codes, to generate business insights. This is distinct from AI recording and transcription tools, which are the actual subject of AHPRA’s guidance and current consent requirements, not operational analytics tools like GrowInsight or Allie.

Allie offers a bundled compliance, CPD and coaching layer, including policy tracking and mentoring notes. It also tracks Medicare Better Access session caps for psychology clients, which GrowInsight does not currently offer. GrowInsight has deliberately chosen not to build the compliance and coaching features, in order to stay focused on analytics, insight and interpretation rather than becoming a compliance or coaching platform.

GrowInsight’s AI-generated insight compares every single metric to both the previous period and the same period last year, which is particularly useful for a seasonal practice. Allie compares every metric to the previous period only, with no year-on-year option.

GrowInsight calculates practitioner profitability using a configured annual compensation figure, with no accounting integration required. Allie connects to Xero to calculate cost and profitability from real wage and superannuation data, which gives it more depth, but requires connecting and mapping a Xero account, and depends on practitioners manually entering timesheets to calculate clinical hours.

Yes. Service Hours adds up the booked length of your completed appointments, read straight from Zanda or Halaxy with no timesheet to maintain. An optional setting counts 50-minute sessions as a full hour, and hours sit alongside appointment counts rather than replacing them.
